Sustainability happens in good design when wood and timber, concrete, tile, stone, steel and glass, building conventions, legacies of craftsmanship, the cycle of the sun and the seasons, an economy of resources, and an eye toward energy efficiency come together to create spaces that are well loved, and in so being well loved are sustained and cared for over time.

Community is built over time, from manifold effort across manifold disciplines. A healthy community depends upon a diverse ecosystem of diverse people with diverse interests and skills, bound by diverse support services.

Public bath houses have served the health and well-being of sustainable, thriving communities for millennia. The series of images below are schematic design drawings, models, imagery, precedent, and context for a new and inclusive public thermal bathhouse sited in a small town in New England, currently in design development in preparation for preliminary pricing and feasibility review.
